The world may be in a morass, but it need not stay that way. We can overcome our obstacles, those that we see and those that we have not yet uncovered. We can forge unity among peoples and groups, we can reduce inequalities and eliminate barriers and work towards what we once called brotherhood and now call the one humanity. We can lessen human suffering and lessen too the magnitude of its occurrence. But first we must foster a climate where higher values and ideas can flourish. We must make the practice of these values more accessible, even more fashionable. Cooperation, compassion, social justice, other-orientedness, sharing, equality, givingness ... need to be our signposts. We must make a place for new ideas for often they summarize the old truths we need to carry forward.

The Inner/Outer Partnership is not unique in its beliefs. Other organizations hold similar goals and convictions. What makes us different is that we believe the best way to achieve the progress needed, and to alleviate the suffering engendered by our many problems, is within a spiritual context. By spiritual we refer to an inner dimension of being which not only replicates the physical world, but which is causal to the world we see. And because it is causal, probing its reaches can inform our understanding of problems and, of course, of their solutions.
The Inner/Outer Partnership works to propose wider ways to contemplate issues and thus help foster more viable answers. We work to demonstrate how higher values implicit in a spiritual context can be reached, realized and expressed, not only through the quality of our being, but through how we can better define and resolve our many problems.
To ensure being relevant to the task before us, we tackle questions such as: How can the existence of an inner dimension help us develop needed new ideas? How can higher values be woven into our own understanding? Or, how can they be applied to better define and resolve human issues?
We are an educational, non-profit, tax-exempt organization entirely funded by voluntary contributions. We run seminars and groups as well as publish as a bi-monthly newsletter, and hope that those we touch can more easily find the answers they need to fulfill their share in the redress of the world's problems. |
